I see design as creative problem-solving that turns human challenges into meaningful experiences.

I believe great design begins with understanding people. My journey from education to digital product design has reinforced one truth: empathy and insight are the foundation of meaningful, human-centred experiences. I value multidisciplinary thinking and neurodiversity as drivers of innovation and more inclusive design.

Originally from China and now based in Ireland, I have over a decade of experience in learning experience research and design. My path began with a curiosity about how non-native speakers learn Chinese, a question that led me to Ireland and into the world of user-centred design and empathy-driven problem-solving.

Fascinated by how sound can be visualised, I pursued a PhD in Applied Linguistics, exploring how speech technology could support “tone-deaf” learners in mastering Chinese pronunciation. Along the way, I realised that beyond knowledge creation, my true passion lies in designing digital products that make learning and interaction simpler, more intuitive, and more meaningful.

I’m a visual thinker and hands-on creator who learns by doing, whether that means crafting by hand, building with LEGO, or prototyping new ideas. I’m inspired by working with people from diverse disciplines, skills, and perspectives, united by a shared goal: using design and technology to shape a better, more inclusive world.
